TRE is a somatic, or body-based practice, geared toward helping us bring our attention to our body and its sensations, thoughts, and emotions in the here and now.

Often, we are used to performing exercises at a fast and hard pace, just to get the work done. However, if possible, it is a good practice to focus on slowing things down and relaxing when we do the TRE exercises.

For the first TRE session, some time is spent explaining a brief history about TRE, what it is used for today, the format for the session, and answering questions you may have. Then we get into the warm-up exercises as shown above and begin working with your body’s tremor response. Finally, we talk about how your experience was that day, answer any more questions that might have come up, and talk about after-care and what steps to take moving forward.
